Running DD-WRT v24-sp2 iPad intermittently complains "unable to connect." The above helped for a day, then same problem. I read this is related to multiple-band routers, so I changed radio from"mixed" to G Only. This solved my iPad's problem.

dnsmasq does a lot more than just DNS caching, it provides DHCP as well. The above page is just suggesting that you turn off the dnsmasq DNS caching feature.

Also, it isn't without consequences. I have a network printer with a static IP address at home that no longer has a local name after disabling the dnsmasq dns features. I'm still working on a complete solution. That side-effect aside, this fix does work as advertised and my wife's Apple devices do play Netflix again!

EDIT: It looks like the best solution for my particular circumstances is to downgrade DD-WRT to build 14311, skip over build 14986, and upgrade to the next 15000-something version that appears in the DD-WRT router database for my particular router.
